Don’t Stress, Give Your Mind Some Rest

During these few last weeks of the semester, we are all trying to scramble for extra points and study for our final exams. However, we tend to neglect our mental health. Mental health is an essential part of our college careers because our moods control how we take action on our assignments. Here are some tips and tricks to help you navigate to a passing grade without neglecting your mental health.  

Planning and creating a schedule for the upcoming weeks. 

Creating a study schedule that is manageable and realistic can help you stay organized and avoid cramming. By breaking down your study sessions into manageable chunks and taking breaks in between, you can stay focused and avoid burnout. 

Avoid self-doubt.

Negative self-talk can be detrimental to your mental health and can lead to feelings of anxiety and stress. Instead, try to reframe your thoughts in a more positive light. Focus on your strengths and past successes, and remember that failure is not the end of the world. 

Finding a comfortable studying location.

 Everyone has different preferences when it comes to studying, and finding a location that works for you is vital. Some people prefer studying in complete silence, while others need some background noise. Try different locations on campus and see what works best for you. 

Reaching out to your professors.

Asking for help from your teachers is another essential strategy. Your teachers are there to help you and want you to succeed. If you are struggling with a particular topic or concept, don't be afraid to ask for help. They may be able to provide additional resources or offer one-on-one tutoring. 

Getting enough sleep

Sleeping for 8 hours is crucial for your mental health. Lack of sleep can increase stress and anxiety and make concentrating difficult. Make sure you are getting enough sleep each night, and try to establish a consistent sleep schedule. Remember that your mental health is just as important as your academic success, so prioritize it during this challenging time.
