The New Rap GWORLZ In Town

We all know those people with that "IT" factor, from their personality to how they talk. You can tell they were born to be stars. This is the case with Max Margiela and Rositacashlinda. The rap duo group emerged from the Home of Hip-Hop in the Bronx, NY, anticipating to leave their marks in the game.

The BLACC Social had the pleasure to sit down with the duo group and get to know them and talk about their new single, "BAD BAD BITCH."

Max and Christian, Max Margiela and Rositacashlinda, met as two students in their high school years at Fordham Prep. Max and Christian detailed their immediate bond through Beyonce's song, Drunk in Love, in 2017. The pair reminisced about the moment they continuously sang the popular song via Snapchat that blossomed into a forever friendship.

A music career was never in Rosita's future. It wasn't until the duo was playing a popular game, Grand Theft Auto, better yet known as GTA, that Rosita dropped a hot freestyle, and the group was formed! Afterward, the duo spent the majority of quarantine working to produce their first mixtape, "NaNa: The Mixtape,” featuring songs such as "My Mans Girl" and "Gyrate." Max states that the pair worked from two different areas of the country to drop this project. “Christian was in Florida for a month, and we were just recording in our closets, trying to get the best sound and quality possible."

The duo has created a distinctive sound with their catchy wordplay and beats. Their music is comprised of a blend of ATL, New Orleans Bounce, and a mix of that South Florida “Hot Girl” feel made famous by Trina and City Girls. The “rap gworlz” touched on their writing process; the catchy rhymes come from the quality of the beat, day-to-day life, and regular sayings, says Rosita. We see an example of this in Rosita's single "3 AM in SOHO." Max picked up to describe his writing process, stating that his method is different from Rosita’s. He listens to multiple hot beats, and then he can push his pen for numerous songs. The gworlz are so in sync that Rosita can hop on the track and finish it.

This year, 2023, celebrates the 50th year of hip-hop, and with the rap duo hailing from the home of hip-hop, they plan to stand out from the rest! In 2019 when rappers like Lil Nas X came out and scored a now 16x platinum record, it opened more doors for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The group believes the evolution and ever-changing approach to the hip-hop community, which they add to, makes them different.

Max Margiela and Rositacashlinda just dropped another single called "Bad Bad Bitch," and Max dropped a solo project entitled "Blazin (Freestyle)" which everyone can listen to on all music platforms. The group plans to pursue and perfect their craft solely. Rosita intends to expand Rosita’s Glam House, his own hair service, and Max has something special in sight for us soon!

It was so great for the BLACC Social to sit down and speak to the group. Their music is linked below.
